Egyptian Queen is an Indo-Egyptian artwork where the Godna style Indian folk art form beautifully showcases the Egyptian theme. Godan style is one of the four forms of Mithila art and an age-old tattooing tradition practiced in Northern and Central India. The Godna or Tatoo art style is a form of a mandala done in concentric circles around a main theme. The motifs used in Godna art have specific significance in relation to the central theme. In this artwork the main theme is the Egyptian Queen and each concentric circle surrounding the Queen has one or more of the important ancient Egyptian symbols as motifs. These ancient symbols play a vital role in passing the culture from one generation to another and are sacred in Egyptian culture.
