Each year, Chhandayan hosts an international competition on a variety of categories of Indian Music and Dance. Candidates are sorted out in different levels based on their number of years in study as certified by the Gurus, teachers or institution/s they study under.

2. Documents to be submitted:
- Consent letter/s from most recent Guru/s, teacher/s or institution/s
- Proof of age, such as birth certificate or government issued document with date of birth
- Proof of address from authorized entity.
3. Each candidate can appear in a maximum of two categories/subjects
4. Subjects: Please choose from any one of these subjects:
Hindustani Classical Vocal: Dhrupad and Khayal
Carnatic Classical Vocal: Devarnama, Varnam and Kritis of Thyagaraja,
Hindustani Semi-Classical Vocal: Thumri, Dadra, and Ghazal
Regional Vocal: Songs in Indian regional languages
Hindustani Classical Instrument: Hindustani classical instruments, such as Sitar, Sarod, Violin,
Sarangi, Bansuri, Sehnai, etc. may apply
Carnatic Classical Instrumental: Carnatic classical instruments, such as Veena, Violin, Bansuri,
Nadeswaram, etc. may apply.
Hindustani Classical Percussion: Hindustani percussion instruments, such as Tabla, Pakhawaz,
Khol and Mardala may apply
Carnatic Classical Percussion: Carnatic percussion instruments, such as Mridangam, Kanjira,
ghatam, Morsing and tavil
Dance: Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Orissi.

5. Competition Levels: The competition will be held in three levels based on duration of learning experience.

Level 1: up to 3 years of learning experience,

Level 2: 3 to 6 years of learning experience,

Level 3: 7 to 10 years of learning experience.
6. Competition Timeline and Deadlines

Sept 1 to Dec 31, 2025: Application will be accepted

Jan 10, 2026: Preliminary Screening for Semi-finals done, and applicants will be notified latest by January 15th, 2026

Jan 31, 2026: Successful applicants to submit performance videos

Feb 1st to Feb 10, 2026: Videos submitted will be reviewed and judged by a panel of experts in each subject

Feb 15, 2026: Semi-final results will be conveyed by this date along with the information about the dates, times of their respective final sessions.

Feb 20 to Feb 25, 2026: Finals of the competition will be held via Zoom.

Feb 28, 2026: Awards will be announced
