We are proud to bring to you
Arushi Patel for a
Santoor concert. Santoor is one of the oldest instruments from India with more than 100 strings.About Arushi's musical journey: At a very young age, Arushi was introduced to Indian Classical Art Forms of Music & Dance. At the age of six, she was first introduced to Hindustani Classical Music by Pt. Jayawant Bantwal. Arushi soon began pursuing her Kathak training from Guru Smt. Archana Joglekar and completed her Visharad Part 1. In April 2012, Arushi took on her newest musical endeavor of learning the santoor from
Guru Smt. Deepal Chodhari. Her prior background in music and dance helped Arushi grasp the santoor techniques with ease. Her santoor performance as a guest artist at a tabla annual day of Shri Pratik Devasthale was very well received. Thereafter, Arushi had the honor to perform the santoor at the Bal Kalakar Sangeet Sammelan held in New Jersey. Her other achievements include winning an award for her santoor performance at the Swardhara Hindustani Classical music competition held by Marathi Vishwa in New Jersey.
Accompanying Arushi on Tabla is her brother Prerak Patel.
Arushi is a recent graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with her Bachelors as well as Masters in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. Currently, Arushi works as a software engineer at Facebook in Seattle. Arushi has fallen in love with the santoor and wishes to follow her passion in depth.
