Kal Ke Kalakar 2024 Brochure

About the Performers

 Swaroon Sridhar
Swaroon Sridhar has been learning Indian Classical music for 24 years (since age 4) and Hindustani music specifically for 10 years (since age 18). He received his early training in Carnatic music, having studied under Smt. Vasanthi Sankaran, Smt. Meera Rajkumar, Sri. Syam Krishnan, and Sri Rajkumar Bharathi. At age 18 he transitioned to Hindustani music and started learning from Sri Manu Srivastava. He currently studies under Sri Samarth Nagarkar. Swaroon lives in San Francisco and works as a Product Manager at Robinhood - a financial technology company.

Vinuta Ramakrishnan
Vinuta Ramakrishnan has been learning Carnatic Violin for the past 9-10 years. She has participated and won various competitions in state, nationally, and internationally, CMANA (Carnatic Music Association of North America) and the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival to name a few. She also placed 1st in the Veenadhari Institute of Music and Fine Arts Kalotsava competition and received global recognition. Vinuta is a Senior Graduated Artist from the Silicon Andhra Music, Performing Arts, and Dance Academy (otherwise known as SAMPADA). She also accompanies various artists and students throughout the Tri-State area.

 Anirudh Ramakrishnan

Currently a senior at North Brunswick High School, Anirudh Ramakrishnan has been learning harmonium from the age of 6 and is now under the tutelage of Shri Kedar Naphade for the past 2 years. Anirudh has won plenty of local and national instrumental competitions. Anirudh plans on studying Engineering in college, and in his free time, enjoys watching sports and reading.

Sathvik Ram
Sathvik Ram has been learning mridangam from Guru Sri. Kumar Kanthan from the age of 4. Sathvik has also taken advanced lessons from Mridangam Legend Late Guru Sri. Karaikudi R. Mani. Sathvik is the great-grandson of Mridangam Maestro Late Sri. Kalpathi A. Ramanathan and the grandson of Vocalist Late Sri.Neyveli V. G. Parthasarathy (VGP). With his Guru's blessings, Sathvik has won several prizes, including first prize in senior percussion at CMANA and Papanasam Sivan competitions. He has also performed in the Margazhi music season in Chennai and in NJ.  Sathvik is a Sophomore at McNair Academic High School in Jersey City, NJ.

 
Sagar Deshpande
Sagar has been learning harmonium since the age of 6. For the first few years, Sagar took his harmonium training from Shri. Hemant Kulkarni and began his journey with Dr. Kedar Naphade since 2017. Apart from harmonium, Sagar pursues cello and is a cellist in Symphonic ensemble of Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey.

  
Aditya Phatak
Aditya Phatak is a young student of Indian music, with special aptitude in Tabla. He started playing tabla at the age of two, even before he was tall enough to reach the drums. He was initially inspired by his grandfather Deepak Phatak and guided by his uncle Shivraj Phatak. Since February of 2008, when he was four years old, he came under the loving mentorship of Pt. Samir Chatterjee in the formal Guru-Shishya (master-disciple) relationship. His music is certainly worth listening to. Aditya has also been studying Hindustani Classical vocal music with Smt. Rucha Jambhekar for the past eleven years.

Suhavi Varshney
Suhavi is in Grade- 3rd. Her hobbies include playing piano and Art

Samaya Mohindroo
Samaya is  9 years old and is 3rd grade. She is learning Kathak, singing and playing the piano. Her favorite animal is a seahorse.

Prisha Sarwaikar 
Prisha is a  fifth grader who has been dancing since she was 5. In addition to dancing, Prisha loves painting, hiking, and  solving sudoku. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her brother.

Venya 
Venya is a 7th grader who loves to dance and sing. She did her first stage performance at the age of 4, singing her favorite song! She developed the passion to dance, around the age of 6 with her first dance performance. She has been taking classical(Kathak) dance lessons since the age of 9 under the expert guidance of Guru Latika Jethani ji! Alongside she loves to sketch and paint. Last but not the least she pens down some feel-good short stories and poetry as well!

Vaanya Batra 
Vaanya is 11 yrs old. She is in grade 5. She loves to read , dance and is very creative in nature . 

 Kaavya Jain
Kaavya is a sixth grader in Crossroads South middle school in South Brunswick. She loves all forms of dances and has been learning Kathak under Latika Ji’s guidance since last six years. She is a friendly girl who enjoys parties and meeting people.

Mayini Singh
Mayini is a  third-grader, has a passion for dance, particularly Kathak, which she has been learning since the age of 6. Alongside dancing, she enjoys painting and reading. She cherishes spending time with her loved ones, displaying a warm and affectionate nature.

Koshin Sharma
 Koshin is 9 years old. She is a 4th grade student. She likes to read, play outdoor sports and draw. She aspires to become a neuro-surgeon. She started to learn Kathak dance last year and she loves it!
 
Ava 
Ava is currently in 7th grade, she began practicing kathak when she was 8 years old.  When she is not dancing Ava enjoys playing basketball, reading, watching movies and baking.

Simar Batra 
Simar is a 4th grader who has been dancing since she was 7. In addition to dancing, Simar loves playing piano, drawing, painting, and  planning small family events.

Anoushka Thakare 
Anoushka Thakare is a kathak dancer from the Dheem Tana Dance academy. She is 16 years old and has been a kathak dancer since 2015-2016. Being with Guru Latika Ji has been one of the great opportunities in her life to have learned so much about kathak.
 
Dhriti Kori 
Dhriti is in grade 6 Cross roads south , South Brunswick.  Her hobbies include swimming, and journaling.

Kavya Singh
 Kavya is a 10th grader at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North. She has been learning Kathak for the past 11 years. Apart from Kathak, she is a HindiUSA graduate and volunteer, plays tennis on her school’s varsity team, is on a robotics team, and enjoys public speaking and playing the guitar.

Aradhana Srivastava
Aradhana is 10 years old. She is a enthusiastic and imaginative young girl who loves to write short stories. She loves to paint, play table tennis with her grandparents and brother and spend hours cuddling her dog at home. She has found her creative expression through Kathak which she enjoys thoroughly. 

Shloka 
Shloka is a 13 year old girl who loves dancing. She has been learning kathak with Latika Ji for almost 7 years now. She enjoys dancing kathak as well as bollywood for fun with her friends.

Priyasha Shah 
Priyasha is an eighth grader and she has been learning to dance with Latika aunty for 8 years now. 

Nidhi Neralla
Nidhi is 12 years old. She is in Grade - 7th. She likes singing, art and playing tennis

Nitya Neralla
Nitya is 8 years old. She is in Grade 3rd.She likes art and playing piano

Sanjana 
Sanjana is currently in 7th grade, she began practicing kathak when she was 8 years old.  
She loves dancing, reading and painting. 

Devaki Nanavati
Devaki has been a Kathak student with Mrs. Latika Jethani for 7 years. She has been learning and performing Kathak dance- classical Indian dance at various events and tournaments since the age of 5. Art- drawing and painting since age 5- paintings have been selected for various exhibitions around the state.

Anisha Gupta
Anisha is from Morganville, NJ and attends 5th grade in Robertsville Elementary School. She started her Kathak training during COVID-19 at age 6 and since then she has been under tutelage at Dheem TaNa for over 3 years.
